Just in case yo've not heard the buzz around town our end of year celebrations are next Monday - more details on the attached poster. To ensure the night gets off to a smooth start please bring your children to the door (we will be there to welcome them) and take a seat in the front garden. We know you'd all like to stay for our final preparations but it is very distracting for the children and super hard for the teachers. We'll have extra staff on hand so if there are separation tears there'll be enough hands for some tender cuddles and care. DID YOU BUY YOUR RAFFLE TICKETS YET? If not then check your parent pockets. There will also be tickets being sold on the night so arrive with plenty of time. Thank you to all the parents that have volunteered to help on and before the day. If anyone else could spare some time please let us know.

Koula is our longest standing staff member at Green Gables. She started working here in 2000 and is returning to work today after a years maternity leave. Koula is returning on a part time basis for now and will be with us each Monday and Wednesday. We are very excited to have Koula back, especially at this busy time of year. Her warm and gentle nature puts the children in her company at ease and her experience in the job is a comfort to staff as they know she can be depended upon. Koula is very likely to remember many of you and your children but a little reminder of names could be helpful (we all know the powers of baby brain). If your child/family started at Green Gables this year then you won't know Koula yet and vice versa. Please introduce yourself to her and welcome her 'home'. Welcome home Koula. At our end of year celebration we always hold a raffle to raise funds for equipment and ongoing improvements. Last year the raffle was huge and funded the much needed bathroom renovation. This year the money raised will be put towards a new outdoor storage shed and equipment - we're very excited! The raffle prizes are a combination of generous donations from local businesses but we also rely on our families to contribute a little something each. With your donations of food, homewares, lotions and potions we create fantastic hampers that you will have a chance to win. Please, if you are able to contribute a prize please speak with Nikki, Sapphire or Ariane and if you have contributions for the hampers please put them in the baskets above the Butterfly lockers. The raffle tickets for you to buy/sell are in your parent pockets. If you need more just ask staff, there's a box full more in the office. Many thanks for making this another successful year and good luck in the raffle (drawn at the celebrations on Thursday 10th December). Next week Ido Levy will visit Green Gables on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday to photograph your children. He will arrive at 8am each day and photograph them in our gorgeous natural playspace (keep your fingers crossed that this beautiful Spring weather continues).
The group/class photos will be taken ONLY on Tuesday and Friday. If your child doesn't attend on these days we'd love you to bring them in especially for the group shots which will be taken at 10am. A reminder about ordering and payment; a board of proofs will be provided a couple of weeks after the photo shoot. You will have the opportunity to choose which pictures of your child to order (including options such as size, colour, black and white) and place the order form with cash only in an envelope. Special clothes can be packed (well labeled please) and handed to staff. Dear Parents, don't forget to dress your children in Jeans and bring a gold coin donation this Friday 3rd August - it's Jeans for Genes Day! Dear Parents,
Don't forget, tomorrow night at 6:30pm we are hosting representatives from Sans Souci Public School at Green Gables. The overwhelming majority of students from Green Gables transition to this wonderful local school each year - and as part of the local community we are committed to providing our families every opportunity to meet SSPS staff in a less formal environment, to discuss any matters close to your heart. It would be great if at least one parent of each child attending was able to attend; this is a great opportunity to take advantage of a small private setting to ask any questions. Please reply to confirm your attendance so we can confirm numbers for catering purposes. Many thanks The Green Gables Team Dear Parents,
Mark your diaries now - Tuesday 24th July 6:30pm. In the third and final instalment of our 2012 information sessions with local schools, we will be welcoming senior staff from Sans Souci Public School to discuss School Readiness and learn more about this extremely popular local school. Each year, the overwhelming majority of students that graduate from Green Gables move on to Kindergarten at Sans Souci Public School. Don't miss this opportunity to meet key staff and ask any questions on your mind. Take a look at their website through this link - http://www.sanssouci-p.schools.nsw.edu.au/home Dear Parents,
